The first recorded use of prefab housing was in 1624. England sent wooden pre-built houses to the new world by boat. It has been a staple of building in Europe for many years. Prefab building is now in its infancy in the U.S.
The potential of modular/prefab development ranges from affordable housing to high-rise apartment building construction.
Eco-Friendly
U.S. PreFab's use of modular prefab construction, will benefit our eco-system by creating net carbon neutral properties. This through the use of environmentally friendly construction materials, constructing energy efficient buildings, and the use of solar energy.
The company's objective is to construct energy efficient homes that will be carbon neutral, thus covering the cost of electricity or even being able to sell energy back to the power company.
Current Projects
Tennessee
U.S.PreFab and its architect/partner, Howard Hartenstein, along with design/build firm, Smarter Living Homes, has designed and developed prefab houses in Tennessee.
These homes are currently under construction.
Sedona, Arizona
U.S. PreFab will build houses in Sedona, Az.
Construction of these homes, on U.S. Prefab's sites, will begin in early 2023.
Glenwood Springs, Colorado
U.S. PreFab is building 10 townhomes and 4 single family homes in Glenwood Springs, Co
The site is in the premiere location, on the river and walking distance to the center of activities.
Over the next several years, U.S. Prefab Housing envisions strong potential to develop eco-friendly affordable housing, employee housing, senior living facilities and government and U.S. veteran housing.
U.S. PreFab Housing will develop creatively designed, efficiently constructed, eco-friendly employee housing and affordable housing.
U.S. PreFab, in order to achieve the success of its Tennessee, Sedona and Colorado projects, has developed working relationships with prefeb component manufacturers, national builders, architects, building departments, energy providers and financial institutions.
Achieving these goals are based on the company’s continued ability to develop significant prefab industry and community relationships. This, along with strong supportive partners and staff.
One of the economic issues facing the country is the nationwide lack of seasonal and full-time employee housing.
Municipalities, in order to deal with the lack of employee housing, have done everything from buying hotels to placing small prefab homes in parking lots.
Areas called SOS, Safe Outdoor Spaces, are set aside for employees to sleep in their cars in Salina and Breckenridge, Colorado.
U.S. Prefab Housing is discussing the potential of joint development of employee housing with municipalities and public and private industries.
Luxury Housing For Executives, Corporate Management and Professionals
As serious is the lack of seasonal and full-time employee housing, the lack of affordable luxury housing for executive, management, and professionals is as significant an issues.
It is difficult to attract these high level employees to places like the Aspen area, where the average home cost is over $13M. It effects hospitals ability to attract doctors, school systems ability to attract teachers and administrators, and corporate and governments ability to hire.
U.S. PreFab is developing luxury affordable single-family houses and townhomes, to fulfill these needs.
U.S. PreFab has the resources and financing, necessary to create affordable, net carbon neutral, employee prefab housing for hospitals, schools and other vital institutions.
